Sharp collects nothing.

The short version

Sharp is an iPhone app of short practice games. It works entirely on your device. We don't collect, store, sell or share any personal information, and we can't see your scores, your streak, or anything else you do in the app.

What stays on your iPhone

Your games, levels, scores, streak, settings and the look you choose are saved on your iPhone. The Home Screen widget reads a copy of the same numbers on the same phone.

iCloud sync

With iCloud sync on (it's on unless you turn it off in Settings), a copy of your Sharp is kept in your own iCloud account, so it carries over to a new phone. It goes to Apple's iCloud under your Apple Account, never to a server of ours, and we can't read it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Permissions Sharp may ask for

Each is optional and asked for only when you turn on the feature that needs it. Sharp works without any of them.

Microphone and speech recognition

For Recall, and for Math if you turn on saying your answers. What you say is turned into words on your iPhone, used for that answer, and not kept or sent anywhere.

Apple Health: sleep (read only)

Only if you turn on Adjust for sleep. Sharp reads how long you slept, to go easier after a short night and to show your games next to your sleep. It stays on your iPhone and is never written back to Health.

Screen Time

Only if you use Lock apps. iOS gives Sharp sealed tokens for the apps you pick, so Sharp can't see which apps they are or how you use them, and they stay on your iPhone.

Local network

Only when you tap Play together, to find a friend's iPhone next to you. The two phones talk to each other directly.

Notifications

Only if you turn on reminders. They're scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent from us.

Challenges

When you challenge a friend, Sharp makes a link or a short code holding the games, the puzzles, your results and, if you've set one, your name. It's only sent if you send it yourself, in whatever app you choose, and it doesn't pass through us. Play together with SharePlay or on two phones in the same room connects your devices directly or through Apple. Settings › Delete challenge data removes your name and challenge results from your phone.

Purchases

Sharp's free trial and subscription are handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether you've unlocked it.

Your choices

• Export: Settings › Export my data saves a copy of everything Sharp keeps.
• Erase: Settings › Erase all data deletes it from your iPhone, and from iCloud if sync is on. Your purchase stays.
• Sync: turn iCloud sync off in Settings at any time.
• Permissions: change or withdraw any of them in the iOS Settings app.
• Delete the app: removes everything on the phone. Use Erase all data first to clear the iCloud copy too.

Children

Sharp doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If Sharp ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so before the app does.
